Attention is Hard to Find

Assaf from Labnotes makes a great point…

Attention is hard to find. And what TechCrunch gives this week, TechCrunch takes away next week when someone outdoes you with better gradients.

A little hype DOES NOT go a long way. You need to either have a killer product or a solid marketing strategy (preferably both), otherwise when the hype wears off you’re left with nothing.

WordCamp Party

I’m leaving San Diego early in the morning headed for San Francisco/San Jose. We’re planning on going to the WordCamp Kickoff Party that sounds pretty fun. We’ll be going with Stammy. I believe it’s his last day working for Yahoo! and he’s headed home so come wish him well. If you’re in the area you should come chill and then plan on going to WordCamp the next day of course. It should be fun geeking out over WordPress.

Execution Is Everything In Life

I think I could get use to this quote of the day thing. Today I discovered this on Signals vs. Noise….

“I’ve never been concerned with competitors,” she says. “Execution is everything in life.”

What do you guys think? You like these posts or not?

Simplifying Information is Here to Stay

My vote for quote of the day goes to Mark Zabrammy

Granted, while design trends like gradients, large fonts, and high contrast graphics may fade, the idea of simplifying information and accessibility is here to stay.

Jason’s Getting a Good Deal

The Netscape Navigators have been revealed and Jason’s getting a great deal. $1000 a month is nothing for the amount of free consulting he’ll get out of this. Now hopefully he can bring the experience of Netscape up to par with that of Digg and Newsvine.
