Interviews with Rand Fishkin and Shoemoney

Yesterday Neil and I were guests on Shoemoney’s radio show, Net Income. You can listen to the podcast here (mp3). The show went really well and it was a blast. Most of the stuff we talked about was Neil’s expertise so I was quiet for most of the show, but I still enjoyed it. Thanks Shoe.

Rand Fishkin, from SEOmoz, did an email interview with Neil and myself directly following PubCon last week. We talked mostly about social media & viral marketing. Rand is one of the (if not the) best SEOs in the biz and I’ve learned a lot from him over the years. He’s also one of the most likable people you could hope to meet. Thanks Rand.

YTD Stats: Top Referrering Sites

I’ve had this blog for a little over a year now and so far I have posted 148 posts and there are 569 comments. I was poking around my stats tonight and decided to post a screen-shot of my top 10 referrers for this year. I started using Google Analytics in March, so these don’t quite reflect a full year, only about 8-9 months.

Stats: YTD

My blog isn’t that popular yet, I still can’t even rank top 10 for “Cameron” (*hint). But I have a few good posts that were popular on social media sites and they brought a large amount of traffic. I’m pretty shocked del.icio.us has brought twice what Google did. I need to post good content more often.

In Vegas at Pubcon

Just a quick post to say that I’m in Vegas right now for Pubcon. Just got done listening to Guy Kawasaki’s keynote on the art of innovation. He definitely lived up to his reputation and gave a wonderful speech. He had the audience laughing the whole time.

Mark Foley, Holy Moley

I don’t know much about the Mark Foley scandal or Stuckey and Murray for that matter, but this Video (Mark Foley, Holy Moley) I came across tonight while checking out NBC’s new YouTube clone, DotComedy, is brilliant.

BTW - I think DotComedy is pretty well done. Even though it lacks the user generated stuff there is no shortage of quality content. It’s no YouTube killer but it will be popular and it definitely wasted some of my time tonight, in a good way(for them).

Social Media Guide

Here’s a good Introductory Guide to Social Media. It is a thirty-page pdf download that is aimed at educating larger corporations on everything social media. If you or your company needs to be brought up to speed then give this a read.
