YTD Stats: Top Referrering Sites
I’ve had this blog for a little over a year now and so far I have posted 148 posts and there are 569 comments. I was poking around my stats tonight and decided to post a screen-shot of my top 10 referrers for this year. I started using Google Analytics in March, so these don’t quite reflect a full year, only about 8-9 months.

My blog isn’t that popular yet, I still can’t even rank top 10 for “Cameron” (*hint). But I have a few good posts that were popular on social media sites and they brought a large amount of traffic. I’m pretty shocked del.icio.us has brought twice what Google did. I need to post good content more often.

Interesting and impressive - thanks for sharing Cameron
Good luck with the top ten ranking for Cameron. I’m going for the same with my name (Ben) which is proving quite a challenge
I’d love to get some of that social networking stuff going on as well, but my content isn’t really suitable and I’m not going to start blogging things that might be suitable just for traffic.
those ego search queries can be a tough nut to crack. i just cracked into the top 100 for “greg”.
was all the stumbleupon traffic free, or did you tap into their advertising option? that seems like a nice amount of traffic from them for an 8-9 month period.
All that traffic is free. I have yet to try StumbleUpon’s advertising option but I’m thinking about trying it so I can create a case study to put on Pronet. I’ll use a site that I can monetize though.
BTW - You’re #39 for “Greg” on my end, not too shabby
I noticed that digg and del.icio.us were two of your top referrers. Social bookmarking is one of the areas I promote my SMO services, which some see as controversial. While search is still a huge traffic source, I believe referrers are the place to really pull traffic. I end up getting a lot of traffic from places I leave comments or communities I participate in.
